Riot

Contributed by CodyJ on Sunday, 17th April 2005 @ 09:53:48 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Army of the people, army of the blind,
army of the ignored who time and time
again get pushed to the side,
they rise to the strrets.
They stomp their feet in angry unison,
they rape the city in violent unison,
they burn down the world in perfect unison,
the whole world is watching.
They shout it as borrowed time collects its debt.
Anger takes back her night.

Praised be the one who saves.
Blessed be he who takes away
life as he creates it, hope as he abates it,
all the saints protest,
save the world tonight.

A child prays.
Save the world tonight.
The building burns in vicous carnage.
It eats the mortar, the brick, the wood.
The boiler.
It blasts apart the foundation.
A floor is no longer a floor, but a hole
a mother plummets through,
a child watches her fly for a minute
before the flames eat her alive.
The child folds his hands.
Please.
Save the world tonight,

Army of hopless, army of darkness,
army of restless, dissentous violence.
They ignite the world tonight.
Destroy all that is unclean.
All that seems to be empty
is full of prayers, save the world tonight.
There is no tomorrow in sight,
as the ignored become known
by destroying the homes
of those who might be responsible.
If they're not? Then they're going to a better place.
That makes it allright, as the burn away the night.

Rain comes to douse the flames.
The worlds is gone, what remains
is a little church, a little steeple,
a little cemetery with all the people
who died on their knees, praying.
Army is vanquished in a self consuming purge,
the scourge was just the brothers and sisters
of those they murdered in a cry for attention.
High in heaven they all look down.
The saints and sinners that cried the rain,
pleaded with God to stop the flames.
But for all his glory, love and passion.
All his power, greatness, and compassion,
He didn't save the world last night.
