And when she fell, I stood for hours to catch the pieces. She said 'The best things in life age so much faster than I do.' And she was probably right. She never saw this day coming.
Now I sit with my head in my hands, crying out to the gods. Why was her mold shattered? Another like her would be so welcome...
They're lowering her now, and I can only remember the last words she sang to me...
'If I were to fall so far, would you search for me?'
I can only hope to love that much again.

Great poem. It seems as if what ever event that you are refering to has helped you to keep an honest grasp on life and for that i am grateful to share in your poem as well as your happiness. |
