setting down the knife

Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Never before have I felt so alone
Have I been so abandoned ever before?
Unappreciated and unnoticed
I beg, please, no more
I sat in my blood last night
Just a bit deeper and I would cease to exist
But in all my fear I could not
Too afraid I was able to resist
I used to think that not being able to follow through
With my lack of strength I wasn’t able to die
But someone told me that it was courage
That was keeping me alive
With so much pressure I haven’t been in control
My thoughts are out of pure hate
I need some time to sort myself out
But I might need some help on the way
Trying so hard to resist the call
Addiction is getting the better of me
Someone hold my hand
Show me who I can be
So I plug my ears to block the sound
I cover my eyes to concentrate
I’m going to relive this life
I’m going to set things straight
This time I will not cheat
I’m traveling only by foot
I’m on my way to recovery
Setting the knife down never felt so good

Great job. Keep the knife down. It is possible... hard but possible. I did it and so can you. I really love the idea of it not being fear but courage keeping you (and me I guess) here. I LOVE THIS. Very nice right. And I am here if you need to talk... I am sure i have said it before but I really am! JUST MESSAGE ME
