The Waiting Room
She sat, tired and ill
waiting
Age had long ago
mauled her youth
Deep lines
left reminders
of a hard,
hard,
life
She sat in blue,
an airy sundress
on a clear
spring day
Embroidered flowers
adorned
her breast
She moved
in and out
of sleep
Her aliments great
waiting
for the doctor's care
They came,
helping her
into the silver wheelchair
She waited
out of breath
a yellow daisy
clutched
in her grasp.
Carol

wow, this was truly well done. i'm amazed by your ability to so properly capture the mood and the setting and the calmness and almost serene nature of everything that goes on in that hospital. Well done! |

Carolita, that was such a great write. It was so simple yet so efective.
I liked you're descriptions of the woman.
She sat in blue,
an airy sundress
on a clear
spring day
Embroidered flowers
adorned
her breast
That was just perfection.
