(Chorus)
But what about Christ
What about the One who shed His blood
What about the Man born as God's Son
What about Christ
(2nd half)
So now you realize
Every worldly thing you held so high
Is just another void to fill your life
And tears are in your eyes
You're trapped within your sin
You try to fight alone but you can't win
You're pleading at the door that leads to Him
Won't someone let you in?

Haven't gotten the first half down yet but I have the chorus and the second set of verses. I'm having a difficult time trying to express my thoughts in rhyme. Basically the beginning of the song will talk about worldly things that excite us such as baseball games, hot dates, money, the business world, etc. and these verses are followed by the chorus "But what about Christ?" as it, doesn't He excite us? If I could possibly come up with music for this, it would be all upbeat and fast paced, not slow and depressing. |
