Why cant you see?

Topic: LovePoetry

(this is the first poem I have written that does not have a really depressing ending - comments very welcomed)

No words to describe
The heart ache inside……

How did cupid get in
With no invitation or a friend?
How was I so deaf
To the sounds of grief
And blind to this inevitable end?

Swept me off my feet,
Head over heals
Only to throw me back down,
Full speed forward I fall,
Crashing through the ground.

I tried to put you off limits
And out of reach,
For friends and lovers do not mix….
But I know what we have could be so much more
If you’d only unlock the door.

You want her,
I know its true
And it breaks my heart
In more than two.
Patiently I’ve waited
For this all to pass on through,
But I cannot stop myself from wanting you.

The ice around my heart
You slowly helped to melt,
Helped me remember
Why feelings were left unfelt.
I’m disgusted with myself
For succumbing to this,
But still somehow
It’s something I know I’ll miss.

Our friendship means so much to me,
And if that’s all there is,
I’ll willingly take that
And let the rest be.

Though I will not understand
Why I’m not good enough
And you don’t want me,
I realize now there’s nothing I can do.
I must let these feelings begin to drowned
And hope that in someone who can see
They will be found.
