Aphrodite's Quintessence

Contributed by EntrancedDrifter on Saturday, 16th April 2005 @ 02:59:10 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

A queen sauntering into a chamber of pawns.
Upon her escort it ever gradually dawns
That upon her arrival, his utility is withdrawn,
Noticing everywhere the awareness that her presence spawns.

The glowing white carapace of her vibrant skin
Shines with a celestial aura from deep within.
Garments only pique curiosities as to what lies beneath.
Jewelry fails to accent perfection; trinkets adorn not the wreath.

Her smile eclipses the fluorescent lights of the room.
On the men's faces there is joviality abloom.
Her teeth shimmer like stars in the twilight,
Brightening all who glance upon her skylight.

Her soft and flowing hair might weave itself into a downward stream;
Catching the rising sun's rays, each strand appears to be agleam.
Her mane might also spiral upward to form some oblong shape.
A Persian rug of cashmere stretches from her forehead to her nape.

Within her landscaping brown eyes lies a scorched but protected sanctuary.
But it is this seductress's enrapturing gaze of which you must be wary.
For with this lure, she can enslave all of the world's past and present kings;
Drawn with a milieu of moonlight, holding her gaze will give a man cravings.

She finds a depersonalized solace in the game,
Which incorporates neither beauty, fortune, nor fame.
In each of these qualities she is satiated.
Displacing the world, her sanctuary is placated.

Her countenance might appear weary in the morning light,
But from her masked costume can emanate a laugh so bright
That pitiful depression is instantly forgotten.
(Her sadistic noose around your neck begins to tauten.)

Each man's attention, directed down a separate path,
Diverts toward her essence as it floats toward the room of the bath.
Countless lustful thoughts stir the stillness and pervade the merry air:
Sleep-deprived musings of what each would do with her plump derrière.

A marvelous delicacy crafted for the envious hearts of men,
Her beauty gleams spontaneously like rainbows across a dewy glen.
With no cosmetics adorning her archetypal visage,
One rightly wonders if he is witnessing a flawless mirage.

Desiring to interrelate humanity despite distinct scenarios behind each situation,
Intelligent monkeys define abstract concepts to facilitate transcendental communication.
Willingly sharing the same dignified space with a lover causes both attachment and elation;
Instinctually, we become possessive of the lovers who redefine our isolation.

Behind closed doors, my acquaintances apathetically note the flaws in the character produced by my Karma.
I oft look to past indiscretions with regret but I would not be here now had I diligently practiced Dharma.
