Break the Day in Half

Contributed by enjoiskating6 on Saturday, 16th April 2005 @ 10:58:06 AM in AEST
Topic: selfstruggles

im burning bridges im still on,
and im building them from thought to thought,
each one somewhere lonlier then the last,
and breaths down my neck like a hurricane,

its just my mouth and my brain,
talking to eachother with an open mind,
so open lies the size of oceans get in,
I teach myself what i know and fail every test,

patience hurries itself into a broken hope,
to fast for emotions to catch up,
and now I feel that familiar nothing,
and it feels so much worse than before,

My god is starting to get as lonely as me,
he plays chess by himself and we're pieces,
pawns so quick to move and quick to go,
he's sewn a thin rope around our necks above hell,

He could pull the ground out from under a mountain,
and cry ice now only a drizzle on my skin,
im immune to that pain now,
i have felt it so long its become pain and pleasure,

I dont want to drift like a glacier to my doom,
further south into an infinite fire,
can I ask of you one favor,
break the day in half and let me keep sunshine.

I love love love that last line!
Gosh, I have felt that before...

I prefer the start of this, generally though, you seem to lose it, maybe just a little toward the end, except for that one line, I think.

Anyway, great write, I loved it.

*hugs* Phil xxx
