One last tear

Contributed by FleurdeSang on Friday, 15th April 2005 @ 05:43:10 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

These weary eyes of mine,
Tainted by the horrid visions of Life,
Rain down gentle sorrow,
From the cloud of memories within my mind...

Night rules the skies now,
Not even a ray of the Sun's legacy,
Suffocating darkness...

Such anguish they hold,
Red impurity, crystal lamentations,
The rose bleeds once more...

Old wounds re-open,
A dagger thrusted deper into my heart,
I open my mouth and scream,
Yet, all that is heard... is silence...

Deafening stillness, quiet fatality,
I know he is near,
His bony finger beckoning for me,
And like a child, I blindly succumb...

I sacrifice myself to Death,
The tempter of my dreams...
Realizing that life is just one big circle,
Useless to walk this repetitious path...

With one last tear,

I drag the blade across scarred flesh,
No more worries, no more pain,
An unfinished melody,
A half-told tale...

With one last tear,

I slowly fade away,
A whisper of "I'm sorry..."
Left for the uncaring...

Likewise. Don't you dare!
It's a seriously good poem, but that is what you must take it out on - your poetry, not yourself. Please don't consider it. Hugs! J.

There is such a sense of pain coursing through many of your poems. They are well expressed, powerful and meaningful, but they do hurt to read, because this pain cannot plead the excuse of being the result of selfishness or self-pity. No, it's some of the realest pain I've seen.

I can do nothing but say that I hope and pray you will find solace and comfort. Life should not have to be thus.

Blessings.

Andrew

You never cease to amaze me Steph your
poems are always so fresh and clear and
your talent always shines through. This poem
just hit me deep as I can really relate to it -
depression clouding your judgment as you
cut to chase away the pain. As always though
you phrase everything so poetically and in
ways I could never dream. Thanks for sharing
your talent with us.

You amaze me more everytime I read your work! You have such talent, such a gift. I hope you never give up because God has blessed you, He truly has! About the poem, It flowed very nicely and there was sadness and depair written all over it, so much it was screaming at me and I felt as if I was in your shoes. I know the pain of cutting, and it's a very lonely pain. Im sorry youre going through it but youre not alone, hang in there
