Memories Into Flatlines

Grief
|
Reverberations of something bitter
echoed through the halls
my burdened step back into early years
boomed off the naked walls.
French perfume and dusty curtains
burnt in pictures of the past
Sceneries positioned in busted frames
And sealed with their broken glass.
Under the breath of aching memories
only the feeble hearts remained
whispers of faded love under
the pendulum of the watch chain.
~~~~~~~~
Open wounds and bleeding hearts
will mark the loss of chance
and moments upon endless moments
sign Death's empty trance.
When you step back towards innocence
will you buckle to the pangs of guilt
Or will you rise and take
your chance to rebuild?
