LIVIN' IN THE DECAY

Contributed by Alexander_McDonald on Monday, 23rd December 2002 @ 01:00:00 AM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Livin' in the decay.
Livin' in the waste.
Livin' day by day.
Is what we must face.
The pollution,
The destruction,
The contamination.

Livin' in the decay.
The hard facts of the situation.
Are the problems,
Are here to stay.
And the short cuts,
Are no easy solutions.

Livin' in the decay.
The walls we must break through,
Won't go away.
But what's left for us to do?

Livin' day by day.
The mountains we must climb,
Will not get out of the way.
Here we are,
At the scene of the crime.

Livin' in the decay.
What's left is mine.
An' I don't care to hear,
What it is,
That you have to say.
I can read the sign.

Livin' day by day.
'Cause we're the last in line.
The world is a game,
We must play.
It's all the same,
Our future's short on time.
And we're livin' in the decay.
Wading through the slime,
You left in our way.
Your debt,
We have to pay.
Covering your bet,
Everyday.
Watching the colors fade,
To gray.
Day by day.
And the world you made,
Drifting into decay.
Your bill unpaid.
Livin' in the decay.

Day by day.

This is a great write, so Dylanish.
You have a wonderful way with words and you flow through scenes.
Thanks very much for this one.

yeah that's us, all stuck in a rut called life, rush rush rush from one end to the other, wreck the place it don't seem to matter to us, maybe because we know we wont be here to face the consequences? we're all forced, herded along, and worse is so many who won't even be able to see that. but lend their weight to the gears that crush us.
