Is it a crime to love someone
With all your heart… with all your mind?
To want to be the one who is there
When they need someone to care.
Someone to hold them tight…
All through the dark and stormy night…
So they will never feel unloved.
Giving them a shoulder to cry on
And a love that’s so unconditional
It’s so nontraditional.
Chasing the shadows from their minds…
Replacing them with the light of love.
Chasing the pain from their hearts…
And replacing it with love.
Chasing the empty dreams in their lives…
And filling them to the brim with love.
In this old world…
When push comes to shove…
People rush to judge.
When they know not what is really going on.
In a perfect world …
We live not.
We are chased by the shadows of our pasts.
Relentless is the chase from the demons to haunt us again.
We find… we need someone to comfort and redeem us.
To set us free again…
To live again… my friend.
Is it a crime to love someone
With all your heart… with all your mind?
To want to be the one who is there
When they need someone to care.
Someone to hold them tight…
All through the dark and stormy night…
So they will never feel unloved.
Giving them a shoulder to cry on
And a love that’s so unconditional
It’s so nontraditional.
I feel them trembling with fear
But never see a shed tear
As the thunder crashes all around…
And the lightening strikes at the ground.
My love would be reaching out
To hold them so near.
Nestled against my side…
To feel their warmth mingling with mine.
My arm would be cradling them close and tight
Holding them through the stormy night.
Is it a crime to love someone
With all your heart… with all your mind?
To want to be the one who is there
When they need someone to care.
Someone to hold them tight…
All through the dark and stormy night…
So they will never feel unloved.
Giving them a shoulder to cry on
And a love that’s so unconditional
It’s so nontraditional.
Chasing the shadows from their minds…
Replacing them with the light of love.
Chasing the pain from their hearts…
And replacing it with love.
Chasing the empty dreams in their lives…
And filling them to the brim with love.
My love will be reaching out
Chasing the shadows... away.
