The Shades Are Off

Contributed by justpoetic on Thursday, 14th April 2005 @ 12:30:03 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

For so long I've walked around with these shades on
Blinded to the world, not knowing what's going on
Couldn't see through people, couldn't see who they really where.
Only seen what they allowed me to see and everything else was a blur
Never really got a good outlook on life cause through the strife
there was only a pinch of light which allowed me to see at night
Never knowing that I had shades on, just thought it was my normal vision
Use to wonder why I couldn't think straight, why couldn't I make the right decision
Didn' really see the whole picture, so I had to use my imagination
And most of the things I saw wasn't real, it was all just a dramatization
But now the shades are off and I see people for who they really are
I'm seeing the true color of people who I thought wouldn't hurt me by far
I see the whole person not just the half they wanted me to see
Now I see what kinda person they really are and it's not who they pratrayed themselves to be
So I say ***** yall who took advantage of me
The shades are now off so I can see who you really suppose to be.
