A light reflected in space

Contributed by zenmind on Wednesday, 13th April 2005 @ 04:23:11 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

Open,
a light once reflected in space,
determines the point of intimacy
that unacknowledged strangers share.
And the distance between them is multiplied
by the speed of their velocity
moving towards each other (which characterizes space)
shrinking vastly, with seemingly no effort,
like the air must feel under your wings,
my dear.

And at the moment of impact,
when two souls connect,
unexpectedly,
the two pairs of eyes meet, as if they had never parted,
and the light refracted in space is only the energy
of their auras, compacted together to the size of a single particle
of dust, which explodes into billions of particles.

Maybe this is how the universe was created,
and maybe it is recreated every day, because
in every moment this silent connection exists,
new, creating dreams of the past and memories of the future,
in which two souls meet and realize they have never been separated.

I am that man who cried out at the moon,
desperate,
for an answer, and it was you who reminded me
that any answer I saught was reflected in myself,
and in you, and all that I needed was to look into your eyes.

We were two strangers once,
and though it seemed that others were disconnected
from our gaze, it was only the limitations of our perception
hindering our full comprehension of the depth that our eyes penetrate,
for space is only an illusion, and all that is experienced
exists within our acknowledgement, of the presence of our being
which is a part of everything.

One day,
I will forget that I wrote this,
but it won't matter because that which sustains the changing of time
with grace, will continue eternally, and will be realized again,
for the first time as if nothing had ever changed.
And the light will remain open, reflected in space,
refracting time in the vision of a beautiful rainbow,
drifting into your eyes.

Wow!
This is great!
The only "complaint" I have is that "saught" should be "sought."
And if you're spelling it that way on purpose, you need to write "(sic)" after it like this:
"that any answer I saught (sic) was reflected in myself,..."
Other than that, the language is superb, beautiful, and descriptive.
Good job, zenmind! Keep it up!

BRILLIANT!
When I read your work, I wish I had the ability to project the images from my mind . The brilliance of it would be breath taking, as the Northern Lights.

This poem makes me ache to be on it's other end, to be a part of the cycle cycling in upon itself and expanding out to space and back. Although there is desperation (ah, the moon again) there is hope and light - and that's good. The flow, the feeling, your word choices, all lend to a huge-ness I can't convey. And there is honesty, deep and sincere, a talking to the audience almost. I loved it. As many others of yours. Fear, death, birth, space, connection, repetition, open-ness all very interesting and ripe for your picking.

:)

this is a wonderful poem, the wording worked well to reinforce what was being said, after reading this a few times i see a description of true love and the fate of lovers

'And at the moment of impact,
when two souls connect,
unexpectedly,
the two pairs of eyes meet, as if they had never parted,
and the light refracted in space is only the energy
of their auras...'

you gave such a clear picture with lines such as these, but it was all on a very emotional and cognitive level, i love that you took that approach, it seems very real and the arrangement of the words just seems to give an intense feeling

i really enjoyed reading this as i do with all your poetry, thank you

This was a great poem, I loved every bit of it. Your writing holds a maturity that I can only hope to achieve one day. you are obviously a great writer, and showed this here, and I'm sure you didn't need to hear that as your writing screams confidence
