'Here there be dragons'
Is a most common phrase
But never in my life
Have I seen these dragon days
I had hoped that there’d be peace
But I was very wrong
Because humans and dragons
Could never get along
‘Cos pillaging and burning
And stubborn are we
But irate and gloating
Out at gloaming is he
He’s the terror of the night
And horrible as naught
He screams and burns as he goes
And terrible, or so I thought
I talked to him and then he said,
'I tire of this game,
People are afraid of me
And now my foot is lame'
He said that no one dared come near
For fear that he may smite
And so I helped him with his leg
In hopes that he’d not bite
The people may still fear him
But at least I know
That he will never hurt me
For he’s neither friend nor foe

Hey, I like this one. Me and my friends are obsessed with dragons, and I really like your poem because it's about dragons. Especially the ending. You are writing a book? That's cool! I write fanfics, mostly original but a few Inuyasha ones. My mom always said that I loved words, and I think she was right. I love the way your poem flows. Great job! |
