Magic Peanut Butter Jar

Contributed by dreamer_for_eternity on Wednesday, 13th April 2005 @ 02:22:24 PM in AEST
Topic: InspirationalPoems

I'm living a dream
That feels so surreal
But I pinch myself
And make sure it's real

It's like a wine glass
Overflowing with smiles
Smiles that must've been misplaced
Back when I was a child

And the wine glass
Has an overflow
All the extra happiness
Needs somewhere to go

So I pick up a piece
And place it in a jar
I keep the jar close
It has a place in my heart

Each extra smile
Has found a place
And in this magic peanut butter jar
There's always extra space

So when I wake up
Feeling happy and free
I put some cheerfulness away
But still take what I need

So when I have a bad day
A day filled with resentment
I reach in my magic peanut butter jar
And take enough for contentment

This magic peanut butter jar
Holds my necessities to survive
When I found this peanut butter jar
It immediately changed my life

This is such a cute poem! It would be great in an anthology of children's poetry!
Once again, you've outdone yourself, dreamer_for_eternity!

Great work! Keep it up!
