Tears Of A Clown

Contributed by pixie on Wednesday, 13th April 2005 @ 01:28:12 PM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I have seen the tears of a clown,
In them I have lost my breath & drown,
As they fall they cascade all around,
Silently splashing onto the ground.

Creating an unhappy little river,
Out of her eyes like snakes they slither,
Caressing her face as they flow,
Kissing her skin as they fall down so slow.

She has lived a life of misery,
Feeling caged, never knowing of free,
Crying is the only thing that fills her days,
Forever in her heart the sadness stays.

She lets out a sigh as she quietly sits,
Knowing that in the world her face never fits,
Being alone carries her day into a restless night,
In the dark she holds onto her pillow tight.

Wishing that the pillow was a lover,
Then at least she’d have some cover,
From the hurt & the pain she endures,
Heartache flows freely from her pores.

The tears of a clown fall down my face,
Only I live in this desolate place,
I sit with silence as that’s my only friend,
I just wish someone had an ear or shoulder to lend.

Wow your words made this poem come alive
it was achingly beautiful and just tore me to shreds. I'm not really sure what else to say.

I feel "this is achingly beautiful" ..and I am deeply moved when you compare tears to snakes slither caressing on the face..and heartache flows freeely from her pores..

Excellent
I think you and I are in the same sad circus
of bouncing off balanced clowns.
