Resistance of thought

Contributed by chrismahoney on Wednesday, 13th April 2005 @ 09:46:48 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

Sitting here in self inflicted loneliness in a once crowded room,
Swinging on an old wooden chair listening to the voice of doom.
Whispering Evil thoughts, my throat fills up, I can barely breathe,
Taunting madness, bloodshed wishes that my mind is unwilling to conceive.

Would my heart be easily won by evil that brings me my dreams of new life?
Or would my heart battle and protect my soul from drowning in this strife?
Doom’s cold hand is placed on my right shoulder, telling me I’m his friend,
“all you need to do is pull that trigger and all this comes to a sweet end”

As I look around this blood drenched room, praying that there’s another choice,
My care decreases, my dreams rekindle, and I can no longer hear his voice.
I stand up and walk through the river or blood, and she looks into my eyes,
“I’m not going to do to you what I did to the others”, “I knew that” she replies.

Why give up on Love when you’ve never given it a chance to breathe?
Now, that was a new thought that my mind was willing to conceive.
For all those who have passed, those where I just pulled the trigger and ran,
I confess to all of you I’ve hurt that loved me, “I have become a new man”

I Loved it !! I think the way you took a room to symbolise your mind was a great idea, that way all your thoughts (you, her-(love) and doom-(your old self) ) were linked closely together...intelligent thinking!! I can see that you have broken up with a lot of women when they or you get too close, I like your expression "pulling the trigger" because for me it is a perfect way to say you destroyed what you had, no turning back.
GOOD WRITE :) Keep it up
Oh...and I Love "Lonely Desert"
Will comment a.s.a.p just need to find the words ;)

I'd like to thank you Artur - I never thought anyone would know that "she" - without a capital 'S' would understand that I wasn't talking about a figurative person, and thank you for your comment - will look out for your stuff - OH - and welcome to YPDC

See you :)
