Do you know me?

Contributed by pl_rage on Monday, 22nd July 2002 @ 06:26:19 AM in AEST
Topic: MiscPoems

Some may think they know me
But how can they?
They only see the surface
Only hear what I choose to say
Sometimes not even that
I’ll never share my deepest feelings
Never confide in anyone
No one will ever be that close
The pain is mine alone to bear
I don’t want anyone to know it
That would hurt too much

You may think you know me
But how can you?
Never have you looked into my eyes
Only my words have you read
Do you know what is true?
What if it’s all fiction?
You can never be sure
For that I’m thankful
That is my freedom
I can say whatever I want
Be it truth or lie
The story of my life
Perhaps just a fictive tale
Even now you can’t be sure
Is this really how I feel?

No one can ever truly know another person
Best we can do is try…

I truly agree with you about that. People can't really know another person. But its not really so bad to try and let people in. All that matters is that you can try and thats a good thing. I really liked your poem. At least you express how you possibably could feel.

Poetry is much like a great photo, a single "moment in time" capturing many feelings and emotions. Yet, they are very alive; creating stirrings within the readers who form visual "pictures" of the expressed emotions within the Poem. ©
