Eye of the Storm

Storm clouds waken and stir over the mountains,
slowly spreading their fury across the
sky.
They ascend, the fire of the evening
sun smothering its smoke into a blanket
over the blue.
Electricity crackles, and ripples through
the air to make the grass below stand
alert, on guard.
Snowy peaks pierce through the
cloud to reach heaven, and in
their shadow, the grassy knolls part
way for a thin stream that winds through
the rock to fall into
the still waters of the lagoon.
I drink
in this vision,
as I follow
my path to the water’s edge.
A few last ribbons of gossamer
sunlight stream through
the cloud
breaks.
The earth, air, water, and I
glory in the glow of the fading light.
Soon,
we know,
the storm will come.
But in the eye,
we are held
Divine.

I don't exactly know all the technicalities of poetry writing, however, I loved this poem. It took me there and that to me makes a good poem. |
