There he stood, they were all in shock
There he stood, at the very top
He climbed this holy mountain
For a brief conversation with God
Thrown in a river, and crowned King
This holy man, was only a human being
Being this, the day of all days
A God for a Golden Café they mistook
Treasonous and deceptively built
God was merciful, he eventually compromised
As he sat there and pondered the earth’s ultimate demise
A second chance was hence granted
And so he now stood, glowing faceless
The two stones weighed heavily on his soul’s core
For the Pharaohs had rendered him fragile and brutally sore
His decent was imminent, his route un-chosen
He stood there and stared, majestically frozen
His chosen people bowed and awaited him
His love for them shrouded and abated, limb by limb
Once sea level, in this lonely dessert
He speaks, to everyone’s delighted pleasure
He makes no mention of the face of God
His young free nation, rips into applause
There he stood, gently in his hands
The lock and key to the Promised Land
Flowing with milk and honey in misery
There he stands, holding history
