As the Sun Goes Down

Contributed by GurlyTye on Tuesday, 12th April 2005 @ 04:53:52 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

As the sun goes down
a new world awakens
As we lie down to sleep
others arise from thier beds

Roaming the dark streets
They watch,
they look ,
they hunt.

The living hurry,
to the safety of thier homes
the world of the night
is a world
where only the strong survive

The stragglers will die
then arise as something new
they will join the others
they will prowl the night

With fear of the sun
and love for the moon
they feed on that
which is thicker then water

If you are smart
You'll be safe in your bed
For as the sun goes down
a new world awakens

Vampires are dark so this would be a dark poem alright. If I may ask what makes you write about something like this? Its so much different from the rest of your work. But its always nice to read something new…..Steve

This is one of those that ought to be gettin a few more reads. Many here like such writes as this, heh, me included. It works well not overly dark or morbid. A pleasure to read.
