Sinking into the pits of depression
All seems lost and hopeless
There is no light
In this hole I hide in.
The ground is moving
crawling,
slithering,
Dark and Damp.
I feel the hate and sadness soaking me in
I cry all the time.
I'm so scared.
Why?
Why am I trapped in a prison of self hatred?
Will I ever get out?
Climbing the walls
toward the surface.
Time and time again
I slide back down
I climb and slip.
LIGHT!
Climb up get to the light
I reach the surface
and fall upon the grass
As the sun shines down on me
All I can do is smile.

| powerful poem....this is one I'll read again. depression is so hard to get out of sometimes. It can over power everything in your life and leave you week. But in this you over come that deep depression. it gives strength to read. Thank you for this stroke of your pin.......Steve |
