The Potter

Contributed by Willofree on Tuesday, 12th April 2005 @ 12:10:18 PM in AEST
Topic: spiritual

The potter's wheel turns
Skilled hands forming the clay
Loving touch; form so soft
As if caressed by a lover's hands

Gradually the hand made creation takes shape
Object curiously different and opaque
Something sacred taking place
"How great Thou art"

The maker of the image very engrossed in His work
To form such a wondrous artistic creation
Epitome of focussed concentration
Such an amazing power He does possess

Shrouded in a soft yellow Heavenly glow
Tucked away somewhere in an old wooden dilapidated shed
Dust and cobwebs scattered all about
One dirty window to look out

To ponder what He has done
As something miraculous has occurred
That will forever change the nature of this sacred place
Nothing less then the creation of the whole Human race

No longer barren land
Now inhabited by the creature known as man
Such a humble beginning for so special a prize
Now back to the garden of paradise

Nicely done. I do love to watch potters and sculpters at work - so much skill and caring goes into what they do. This was beautiful. Thanks for writing it. J.
