Beating Crucifix (Cross Your Heart)

Topic: DarkPoetry

Beating Crucifix (Cross Your Heart)

im standing here with blood on my hands
just a victim of your lethal plan
you toy with my head, you toy with my heart
all alone in the middle of the dark

there you stand bitter and cold
there you stand all alone
killing me as i kill you back
the midnight sun both red and black

catching pieces of bitter snow
where will you be once i steal your soul
i had a dream i saw your face
behind the mask,feel my embrace

sexual perversions of tempting sin
lusting for you to kill me again
twisted in my mind and black in my heart
feel the pain when i rip you apart

i could have moved the sky
now i have the power to make satan cry
not a case of where and why
just a case of when we die

i was confined to a puppet trick
with you standing over me with a crucifix
pull my strings and make me twitch
give me the scissors you friggin *****

i dont think too much of life
a hollow point and a butchers knife
you promised you'd love me til the day we die
then i guess darlin' we cant be alive

i had a dream that you were true
a friggin dream where i didnt lose
promises are promises, and lies are lies
so cross your heart ***** and hope to die

some say im wicked, some say im cruel
just because they havent met you
if you kill me i'll kill you back
hold on tight as we fade to black

my arms are broken,my eyes are sore
you friggin *****,you cheating whore
killing eachother, and the souls we sell
well,i guess darlin' i'll see you in hell

*authors notes*

this poem is based around a much much larger poem/story "cross your heart" i wrote a long time ago (in all caps for some reason) and this version of it basically tells the story of a relationship where both partners play mind games with one another and hate it but still love eachother for some reason. naturally i had to edit some of the language to post it but where ever you see "friggin" please insert the real F word.as always comments welcome

Whew! This is really dark. I had a relationship (a long time ago) that was basically made up of his power games and mind-f***ing me into thinking these were real emotions on display. I didn't cross over, but I came really really close. Sounds like this poem is from a persona who *has* crossed over to the dark side. An assertive portrait, and skillful. J.
