Your Song will Change

Contributed by mnk_1112 on Monday, 11th April 2005 @ 11:11:48 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

I think I'm going to give up,
my energy is spent.
After all, I'm borrowing time-
this body's just for rent

I wish I could quit,
even angels fall.
And by giving up, I'd be doing
a noble service for all.

Sleep is now my best friend
he becomes me well
But should sleep become my Savior
I'd be doomed to Hell

Should I take away my own breath?
Stop my beating heart?
My mind says no, for with life I know
I'm too cowardly to part.

So I just lie here wearily
in anger, weakness, pain.
When I smile, it's always fake
and the real attempts are in vain

Yet you smile and laugh and sing
vindictive with your happy soul
Little do you know your words
in me create a gaping hole.

Yet I masquerade the fake smile
so you'll think nothing's wrong-
But if I'm gone tomorrow
you'll sing a different song.

This is really well written. The images you paint deffrinitly help get the emotion across. I love this, of course then i can also relate. Very nicely written.

YOU KNOW WHO'S ABOVE. BE THANKFUL YOUR NOT BLIND..........WHATEVER HAS CAUSED YOU TO THIS PAIN, CAN NEVER FULLY KEEP YOU. YOU KNOW YOU ARE ONE OF THE CHOSEN - I KNOW IT THROUGH YOUR WORDS. AT TIMES WE FALL, AT TIMES WE CRAWL, THE HEART IS A VERY COMPLICATED OBSTACLE. BUT THE FEELINGS YOU CARRY NEED TIME TO HEAL. THE MASKS YOU WEAR CAN ONLY HIDE SO MUCH. DEEP INSIDE I BELEIVE YOU KNOW THAT YOU MUST GO ON. IT'S NEVER EASY, BUT YOU DON'T GET TO CHOOSE WHEN YOUR DONE DOWN HERE. YOU ARE NOT MADE TO TAKE AWAY THE LIFE YOU'VE BEEN GIVEN. PAIN COMES, IT KILLS ..........I KNOW HOW YOU FEEL, BUT YOUR WRITTING WILL HEAL IT LITTLE BY LITTLE. SO DON'T GIVE IN TO DARKNESS. ALLOW YOUR SELF TO FEEL, & REMEMBER THAT PEOPLE COME & GO...........WHOSEVER SUPPOSED TO BE AROUND WILL BE - THOSE WHO AREN'T -WON'T. YOU KNOW THAT YOUR BEING TAKEN CARE OF FROM ABOVE - EVEN WHEN YOU DON'T FEEL IT. KEEP WRITTING, & I HOPE YOUR BREAKTHROUGH IS NEAR. SMILE AT THE SOURCE OF YOUR PAIN, & NEVER LET IT GET THE BEST OF YOU................TAKE CARE.
