I know what my soul is…
It’s a tangle of reflections.
A quietness that one can feel.
Something said automatically.
Something longing to be real.
I know what your soul is…
It’s like nothing I’ve ever known.
A shadow dancer on the wall.
A little lopsided smile,
That’s better than no smile at all.
It’s a beautiful pleasant silence,
A poem, written on the wind.
A wild horse that races the sky,
A very lopsided grin.
I know what our soul is…
It’s a breath. A prayer of thanks.
A spark…A single beating heart.
A match that burns forever,
A single soul, not once apart.
An electric piece of mind,
A conversation that knows how to last.
It’s the butterflies in our stomachs,
A leftover, but beautiful, laugh.
A bath of intense heat,
A very solid, gripping stare.
One soul dwelling in two bodies.
A lit fire love, that we both share.

this is a great poem I think and makes me wonder how much more we would appreciate each other if we could see past the hard surface of others and observe the soul. I think if we could do that than we would cease to misunderstand and hurt one another. Anyways I liked the poem very much. take care , doug |
