A girl sits quietly
She stares into her book
Where instead of a poem is
Lays a little note
The note is close to her
She holds it really dear
He gave it to her
As he went away
He told her to open it
As soon as she was alone
Now she sits quietly
As tears run down her eyes
The note lies in her lap
Tears are falling on it
Smudging the perfect words
But she knows it by heart
She knew with just one look
This secret little note
Will forever still remain
Inside that little book
That she holds never ending
Until he returns:
Dearst love
Do not cry
I'll be home soon
I promise

BEAUTIFUL! There’s nothing dark about the heart that can write such thoughts as this. Surely your bio is in jest. I see quite a talent here. I usually don’t read much dark poets works, but I’m so glad I read this. A tender, loving, beating heart, in a dark poet . . . WOW!
Cheers
John
