Once Upon A Time

Contributed by DesolantDreamer on Monday, 11th April 2005 @ 05:13:43 PM in AEST
Topic: SadPoetry

Once upon a time
When the Earth was not stained with blood
The world was beautiful
Man live side by side
And worked in harmony with his brother

What happened to that world?
Lust, greed, hatred
All blossomed among the men
And soon they found themselves strangling their own brother
With their bare hands
They found murder as a high
Killing, betraying, sheading the blood of their own children
On to the precious Earth
Staining it forever
Not caring who they squashed
To get more
They world will never be the same again
The Earth will never breath again
Without the smell of blood

So, the truth is known; you are not a dark poet . . . you are a realist with a keen eye that recognizes evil and dishonesty, and have the heart and the words to expose it. Quite a task for the times in which we live. However, do not forget that in that same world there does still exist love, compassion, and wisdom. You, being a seeker, will find that to be true if you search long enough. Be successful my little friend. Your happiness depends on it. Wonderful writing.

Cheers
John
