My Corner of the World

Contributed by blue_angel on Monday, 11th April 2005 @ 11:29:46 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

I sit alone in my corner of the world
Yet no one notices me
No one tells me that I’m strong
And so I remain weak
I have to laugh at myself
Just to get by
But in the end I know
I will only cry
Forgetting who I was before
I cannot live like this
All alone and discouraged
I cannot take this ****
I’ve been kicked out of my home
My friends accept me not
And all those happy memories
I have already forgot
Untalented and elapsed
I realize no one’s there
In my time of great despise
No one even cares
So if no one tells me otherwise
I lay my worn head down
I will go ahead and die
If no one is around
If you can’t tell me not to go
I see no point in life
If I mean so little to this world
It’s time to end my strife

Something I have learned from sitting in my own corner of the world is that you are not alone, just as I was not. There are a certain number of people who do not belong to such a destructive world. You are one obviously, as I have felt I was for sometime.

This however shows something, I am one of your neighbors in this world's bordertown, and if I am your neighbor and I have my neighbors than obviously there is a neighborhood. Where there is a neighborhood there is a town. Where there is a town there is a county. Where there is a county there is a region. Where there is a region there is a country. Where there is a country there is a world, and where there is a world there is a universe. We are not alone, and though our population compared to the 90 percent of the world we live in is small we do have a community. There is a town where the mind, spirit and heart roam free. There is a place where people care. You don't have to travel to get there, you just have to keep thinking outside the box, and you will find those friends, and those lovers that are in it with you for the long haul.

Very well written neighbor.

I agree. Your not alone, your here, among people that will care. They've helped me alot, just being here, encouraging me and hearing me. And, they don't even know me..Shey
