MOM

Eyes of glowing crystals blind the darkening days
Because of the strength projected out of them
We know its going to be okay.
Hold your head up,
Smile and use the words of spilling serenity,
Quickly persuading us into your way of thinking
That we are strong too.
Show us our strength through your own,
Show us to be a better person through your wills.
Show us what its like to be human,
In a world so corrupt its almost impossible to believe.
Display to us the dream of all dreams,
The dream to succeed.
Hold us when we are crying,
The acid tears that bleed,
They take away the pain,
But blind us from our dreams.
Keep us back on track,
With your hand so generously pointing the direction
of our ways.
And know that when you are crying
Ill be there to tell you
Its going to be ok.
That when you are blinded from the goals
So far ahead,
Lend me your hand and ill lead you
To the path towards them once again.
Ill be your friend as you have been mine
Though I’m afraid I cant be as good,
But all it takes is time.
So thank you dear mother, for doing everything you could.
Thank you for your words,
And the times beside us that you stood.
Thank you for your love,
And for all the advice you’ve given,
But most of all Thank you
For giving me one more reason to keep on living.

Very Beautiful poem; as are all poems of praise from young women to be, when they highlight all the attributes that make their mother be such an important figure in their life. This is one to warm the heart of any mother. It should definitely be turned in . . . AND with much pride. What ever your age, your heart and mind are more adult than your years. Congratulations on your writing skill, and your rearing.

Cheers
John

That was great. I only hope that when my son gets older he will love and appreciate me as much as you do your mother. I definately think you should turn that in. Great job! Your mother should be very proud, not only of your poetry, but for you just being you.
