They Know...

Contributed by ForeverAndADay on Sunday, 10th April 2005 @ 04:29:18 PM in AEST
Topic: DarkPoetry

Whispering.
He struggles through his day.
Watching people, like shadows...
Through guilty eyes.

He hears voices.
They tell him the things he
is most frightened of coming to pass.
Wild dreams, attack him while he sleeps.
he is convinced,
they can see through him...
They pick out the darkness...
He steals his moments like a thief.

In the office...
He is uncomfortable with their chatter.
To him all of their conversations...
Run like accusations...
Fingers pointing in his direction...
Branding him a violation...
A human scar
bleeding through the world,
Everytime it's allowed the chance to breath.

He coughs when the subject is brought up,
even in casual conversation...
His words sputter like a speech impediment...
All around him, confrontation.
He knows he cannot live like this...
Too many people suspicious of him.

He closes his car door,
A barrier between him and them.
he drives to a bridge he knows well...
And prepares for the end.
He thought that if he did it...
He'd make his life better for them both...
But the words kept echoing through his head,
Like madness...

They Know....
They Know....
