Can you be happy?

Contributed by Archie on Sunday, 10th April 2005 @ 07:55:08 AM in AEST
Topic: Lifepoems

When the rain falls everyday
and the clouds block out the sun
and you come home to relax
to find all your stuff is gone
when the bills keep piling up
No relief is seen in sight
can you muster up a smile
even in the worst of plights

There is a road that everyone will have to walk
where your enjoyment is knowing well yourself
And happiness is being content where you are
with in the storm

Can you be happy?

When your kids keep messing up
and you know you taught them well.
When your friends abandon you
at the time you go through hell.
And the flood waters rise up
to the level of your neck neck.
Can you wade the rough torrent
will you drown alone in it?

There is a road where everyone will have to walk
Where your best friend will be yourself
And night time dwells like living life in a tunnel
with in the storm.

Can you be happy?

Is the flower's bloom enough
with the green of each grass blade?
Does the singing of the bird
take your troubles far away?
When you hear the rolling brook;
does it bring to you a smile?
Nature plays it's symphony;
do you drown with in the bile?

There will be troubles everyone will have to face
Will you lose hope and fill your life up with disgrace
This is the lesson everyone will have to learn
To find relief in life or burn!

Can you be happy?

(As we grow older our dreams crumble and die
We pass our desperate feelings to our dear friends lives
We burden them with pleas of help us find relief
and miss them in their time of need)

Can you be happy?

Times of bad bring great unrest
darkened times with in our midst
often the solution's near
we just do not want to hear
The road to us seems very tough
It's easier to just give up
and yet life hold a different plan
For him or her who tries to stand.

You ask a question that most of us contemplate at some point or another. I wish I had the answer for it, because I would share it with the world.

This was not only filled with wisdom, it spoke of real life and how sometimes our plans go awry. I guess it happens to everyone.

Enjoyed this one.

Kie

Can I... ? Maybe I´m afraid of that and I choose not to be. Sadness and Lonliness do have their good points, for in their company much is written. Yet still I miss Happiness.
Take care.
David
