The Questions

The Questions
April 10, 2005

The questions I ask seem to come and seem to go,
Like time taunting hope, pushing the past into the end.
Leaving me inquiring, how was I supposed to know?
Who holds the answers I seek- but those whom I descend?

If life is meant for learning, as I know it to be
Why does it seem I am sentenced to learn the same thing twice?
Did I not understand the pain, did I not clearly see?
Perhaps I am to live only to see the strength of a vice?

But still I cannot grasp it, the answer from my reach
What Hell am I to live on Earth, for what sin am I repaying?
I praise the plan to be taught and teach,
Yet question why I falter at exactly what I'm saying.

Is it selfish to want to be happy, or too hold glee too long?
I won't apologize for smiling wide, my change is best as yet
Simply said, I am innocent, I have done nothing wrong,
So why then do I feel as though I have become life's marionette?

My questions are an endless lapse, of sense and confidence,
I alone am not the cause, of any one thing past.
So I declare to keep myself a pure spectator hence,
And keep the questions answerless, until I do surpass.
