Ironic
April 10, 2005
Ironic how
I spoke last night
With God aloud
In whispers tight
Ironic how
I thanked him so
For keeping life
Perfectly right
Ironic how
I smiled into sleep
With memories
Only mine to keep
Ironic how
I shared with you
My joy and then
Away you flew
Ironic how
I saw myself
In the mirror and
Smiled, happy
Ironic how
At that moment
I thanked Him
Again, again, again...
Ironic how
I sat in silence
Watching magic
Smiling in the dark
Ironic how
While I thought
Of what makes
My joy alive
Ironic how
Right then
Someplace
You lied
Ironic how
You didn't speak
Your lie was worse
It hit me deep
Ironic how
I felt so pleased
Ironic how
I'm on my knees
Ironic how
Your mistakes
Ironically
Are all it takes
