If Only Yesterday Would Never Have Survived

Contributed by UnlovedChild on Sunday, 10th April 2005 @ 02:28:46 AM in AEST
Topic: oops

If the world would have ended yesterday
Then today would never have been revealed
One wouldn't have to feel guilty
While the rest have moved on
The tears wouldn't have been cried
If only yesterday would never have survived

The lovely sound of laughter
Arising during dinner
Of things that are too funny you may even start to cry
The feeling of emotion
I felt I had to hide
Nothing would be so secretive
If yesterday would never have survived

The wishes that you once had
Don't seem accomplishable anymore
The dreams that once ran across your mind
Will just stay locked inside
But it would all be just fine
If yesterday would never have survived

Through all the hurt that is inside
Sadness and guilt that shouldn't be felt
Yet it all is felt anyway
This is just a sign of yourself slowly fading away
But there wouldn't be any worries
If only yesterday would never have survived

I guess this all just shows that when today comes to an end
Even though it is clear that if yesterday would never have survived
Today would not have happened
And everything would be alright
So new wishes and dreams now will arise
As you hope not for the past to change
But for tomorrow to survive

Hey Amy, I really like the concept of this poem. I especially like:
I guess this all just shows that when today comes to an end
Even though it is clear that if yesterday would never have survived
Today would not have happened
And everything would be alright
So new wishes and dreams now will arise
As you hope not for the past to change
But for tomorrow to survive

Good job Amy...I am so glad you posted...keep writing!
((hugs))
Carol
