A Simple Time

Thoughts of what a day could bring
Questions in the rain
What more could be wanted
From such a friendship?
Just to be there when needed
All I could give
Satisfied
In knowing you live.
Ticking off time
In busyness going by.
Patience is needed
Until recreation comes again
A voice unheeded
Waits longer until then.
Lifted spirits are dreaming
Rarely seen in mornings bright
But afternoons are talking
Through sometimes shared mugs
Until day turns to evening.
Yet scarcer thon caring
Would make it so.

Welcome to YPDC !!!! An insightful post.
"All I could give

I love those lines ... that is a true testament to friendship. Everyone would be blessed to have, and be, such a friend.

I felt a kinship with this poem. I read it several times and I have felt what you have described. It is exciting, yet scary.
Then you find yourself with your feet on the ground, rethinking.
I loved your poem. Excellent!
