My heart could be beating
I can't know for sure
It must be misleading
But I can't ignore

Her flirtations holding
Common sense at bay
And I can't help in noting
Her presence everyday

I can feel a weakness
When my mind's on her
All I sense is bleakness
And I lose my nerve

It must be a common
Mistake I have made
Fall in love with nothing
And only get betrayed
