I settle on the bench
With my hot cup of tea
Inside the cozy park
I stop.
I stare.
Glancing at your flowing red hair
Around in circles you go
Spinning cause you don’t care,
Spinning for you’re free,
Digging in my pockets….
Pretends to be busy
You continue to spin
Beautiful creature like a dove.
I sip my tea—wonder off
Run a hand through my hair tinting with gray
Autumn has turned today mystical
Rain a very light drizzle
Hopes set too high
Leafs fall around you
Your hands in the air
Reaching for the unreachable
Sipping my tea once again
You see me.
You stare.
I rumble through my briefcase
Fidget my golden watch
You smile.
Laugh.
Those pink lips with lust
My heart skips a beat
I nod.
I smile back.
I finish my tea
Get up from the bench walk to the trash can
Discarding the plastic cup
Today I drank a wonderful cup of tea
Met a stunning red head in the park.
