My Ambition Exceeds Life Itself

Contributed by Onslaught on Saturday, 9th April 2005 @ 01:28:29 PM in AEST
Topic: AngryPoetry

I shun all perceptions
I shun all sensations
I shun all creation
I’m gonna find out just how bad
This pain of boredom, loneliness,
Sensory deprivation, and emptiness gets
Before it all fades away forever
I’m not afraid
I’ll become of pure energy
Alive but feeling nothing
Flawless perfection
Free from distraction
And what I will become
Only time will tell

I will no longer be human.
Shunning every manifestation
Of the perverse human mind.
To indulge in the very things that makes you human is bliss
Just like ignorance, just like evil.
I will not.
I Don't know why I would try and explain this to anyone.
It would be like trying to explain
The amazing feeling of doing somersaults to an invalid.
Both unable to imagine a feeling better
Than the one they can ever know.

Trying to deceive me with fake sentiment
With illusions of love and affection.
Trying to pull me in to the orgy of sin and revulsion
That comes so easy to humanity.
I will exceed human weaknesses
And it cannot allow that, it is made angry,
Trying to bring me back down
To the deficient subordinate pitiful level
Of human sense-cruelty and emotional-sadism.
But I am no longer listening,
Mind games are now ineffective.
It’s a small victory to be sure,
But I have triumphed
In this universe of meaningless existence.

this was a good poem in general. it reminded me quite a bit of your thread in the forums. in the beginning you repeated "I shun" a bit too often, even if it was only three times. also in the first stanza you listed feelings, etc. but those were the only bad things i noticed. some of your verses i liked because of their concept and because of how you worded them such as,
"It would be like trying to explain
The amazing feeling of doing somersaults to an invalid.
Both unable to imagine a feeling better
Than the one they can ever know."
