Come and see Magnolias

Contributed by Elizabeth_Dandy on Saturday, 9th April 2005 @ 03:50:51 AM in AEST
Topic: LoveRemembered

“Magnolias are out again my dear,
Come, come with me and see the glorious bloom,
Lets take a ride again to see the cheer
Of budding flowers,- leave the chilly room!”

But being hard of hearing, - imbalance
Upon a bicycle my darling feared,
And so he did refuse to take a chance
to ride and missed the bourgeoning multi-tiered.

Last spring a darkly premonition struck,-
It might be the last time for both of us,
To take the bikes out off the awkward rack,
And kick its pedals ‘long a flowered path.

T‘is spring yet again, - magnolias bloom,
But Lo! the glory is for me alone,
And coming home so empty is the room
My precious spouse, my love, my Steve is gone.

Springs radiant beauty is again around,
Sweet blossoms sprout on every bush and tree,
I am alone, but hear his voice resound,
For my dear Stephie-boy now lives in me

A passing bloom I see - my yearly joy,
But soon magnolia leaves fall unto sod
My life’s companion, my Stephie-boy
Sees endless bloom and blossoming in God.

This was a gorgeous poem and a beautiful tribute to his memory.

I love Magnolias. Their blossoms are so huge and beautiful and the large waxy leaves. Now I am suddenly homesick for the place where Magnolia's are everywhere.

I know that I have read this song of love before, but I will always be drawn to the words, wherever, and whenever I find them. I’ve never seen greater words of love directed to the life and spirit of a spouse. Nor, have I met anyone so fervent in their desire to keep that spouse alive within their Spiritual self, and at the same time proclaim his name and spirit to the world. May Stephen lead you down the path of sweeter times when you were both young and adventurous. Till next year . . . with love

John
