After I have dreamed
Into the world
I head outside
I stare at the ground when I walk
My only friend the ground in whom I confide
I don’t want to look up
I don’t want to see
What I can never have
What I don't want
What doesn’t want me
I lie asleep in a world I don't want to be
I want to stay in a dream
The mercy of Sleep
My last true Shelter of Solace
Not as cheap as a drunken stupor
Not as definitive as death
But still grand in its ability
For a handful of hours
To make me feel okay
I’m afraid of what I will think next
When I open my eyes
I want to keep on sleeping
It would be better if someone was by my side
But when I am asleep
Loneliness can be set aside
My Solace Sleep Shelter
The only place left to hide
