How About Now

Topic: SongLyrics

__________________________________________

I’ve been tryin’ to reach you
Somehow I can’t seem to get through
I was standin’ before you
But your blinded eyes, they never knew

I know you never noticed all the tears I cried
How I longed to hold you all those lonely nights
I screamed your name into the vacuum of my soul
Listenin’ for an echo that could not console

(well)
How about now?
(can you hear me?)
How about now?
(when you look my way)
Can you see…
That I’m on my knees
And I’m bleeding out
All that is left of me?

I see you tryin’ to reach me
I don’t have the strength left to pull through
I was hopin’ I’d be free
But I still feel a connection here to you

You take me with you every where you turn to go
I’m right beside you, nothin’s changed, you’ll never know
I die a little more every time he speaks your name
I wish you could’ve seen just a fraction of my pain

(but)
How about now?
(can you hear me?)
How about now?
(when you look my way)
Can you see…
That I’m on my knees
And I’ve given you
All that is left of me?

The red lines you read in the fine print were me
The voices you heard and tried hard not to see
The shadow that tricks the corner of your eye
The breath that escapes at the end of each sigh
The breeze that caresses on a windless day
That lump in your throat that will not go away
The tear in your eye when there ain’t nothin’ wrong
The one in your head who keeps repeating that damn song

How about now?
(can you hear me?)
How about now?
(when you look my way)
Can you see…
That I’m on my knees
And I’m bleeding out
All that is left …

... About now
(can you hear me?)
How about now?
(when you look my way)
Can you see…
That I’m on my knees
And I’ve given you
All that is left of me?

This is a hard subject, Scott...
You have written your thoughts out so well, this is stunning..
But..this is a terrible write. It's sad, and painful..

I sort of wish I could make it all better.

Great write sweetie.. I'm here for you.
*hugs*

Gorgeous, incredible flow, yet I could not help but feel the harsh sting of tears within these weary eyes of mine... I thought I had none left to give, but here they are, streaming down my face... Cheri Nazzy, I can so relate to this... So many of my friends have been in that place, that dark corner of eternal shadows and sorrow... not to mention, me too... They have tried to connect with me, tried to take me back, and I never noticed, never heard their cries through the fog... They have given me so much, and yet, I am oblivious to their sacrifices... Merci beaucoup... for helping me see and hear their dying shouts... Incredibly sad, filled with despair to help another... My dear friend, I hope they will hear your pain-filled melody... and maybe... sing back. Exquisite till the very end. "How about now?" Oh yes, yes... I hear you now... I hear everything now. Loud and clear. And I won't ever lose the connection. Thank you, my dear friend, for showing me exactly how much friends do care... Much hope and comfort for you... for hope is eternal, and friendship just as long...Smiles and huggles for a good friend. All my love, cheri. Forever,

Votre toujours ami,

Stephy. *hugs and love*

A very well composed song. Very descriptive and so full of emotion. You can feel ur pain in every line. A fantastic, but heart breaking song.
Well done

Sue

Naz,

Great write and quite emotional. The "How about now" triggered some ...what about now questions of my own.

Ya what about now,

Anyway, Super write

Very poignant. This doesn't deal with suicide per se so much as the heartache that often goes with it.

Well done.
