Birds scattering
At the sound of her scream
On top of the world
Yet invisible it seems
On her lunchbreak
Right at noon
No one suspected
She'd be absent for the afternoon
High school had been hard
So far almost three years
Tried to fit in a little too much
Too many drugs, too many beers
A little too far
A little too soon
Now she'd permanently be
Enclosed by her personal tomb
From the sixth floor roof
Looking straight down
Wondering what it'd look like
If her blood splattered on teh ground
She could do it quick with a gun
Or go slow with some meth
Instead she chose a gorey
Inevitably disturbing death
The pressure was too much
Her ignorance took teh best
No longer could she endure
The painful and brutal life tests
Never played sports
Never made the team
Her being an athlete
Was a silly little dream
Never made the cheerleading squad
Couldn't carry a tune
Couldn't act to save her life
She just stayed locked up in her room
With a glance at the sun
About to be attacked
By rainclouds and haze
There was no turning back
She didn't even say a prayer
And had no more thoughts to think
Didn't even leave a letter
Written in pen of ink
Falling through the sky
For a short time that lasted forever
Wind blowing her hair back
But she wasn't alone, no never
In the midst of her fall
Midway to her death
The whole world paused
Out came the angel of life, and angel of death
"You should die, just keep falling!"
"No, you have a life! You have purpose!"
"You have no purpose, you're worthless!"
"Remember when you were happy, you're not worthless!"
The angels fought back and forth
But the girl didn't listen
She realized what she was doing
And all she would be missing
She looked at hte angels
One in all black, the other in white
"Please, I wanna live!
I have to see my mother tonight!"
The angel of death
Turned and flew away
As the angel of life
Granted her another day
When the girl re-opened her eyes
She found herself in a hall
In the city hospital
And she heard her mother call
She ripped the door open
Ran to her mother's side
"Mama, don't leave me!
Because of you I didn't die!"
"I almost jumped,
I was almost to the ground,
But my mind came back to me,
My sanity was found!"
"I knew how I wanted,
Your last hours to be,
But I don't wanna lose you,
Can't you see!"
The girl's mother
Slowly stroked her daughter's hair
"I'll always be with you,
Anytime, and everywhere."
"I'll be in your mind
Memories of me,
And I'll be in your heart,
Forever and eternity,"
"I love you my sweetie,
My pride and peace,
But now I must go,
Now I must leave."
Her mother's eyes
Softly closed shut,
"Mother, don't leave me!
Not in this rut!"
The girl's eyes widened
And she shook with fear
Her mother growing colder
But on her cheek lay a warm tear
The girl fell
Onto her knees
"Mama, come back!
Oh, please, PLEASE!"
A light appeared
In the hospital room
The angel of life's light
Filled the room
"Let's go my child,
You already leaped
Come wiht me now
Up off your feet!"
The girl opened her eyes
She was midway to the ground
She looked over to the angel
But the angel was no where to be found
Ash she fell
To her death
She heard a soft voice
From an angelic breath
"No second chances,
In life you will get,
You took teh leap,
Did you forget?"
"No one's to blame
Besides yourself
I let you see your mother
I did my job to help."
On the pavement
Lay a corpse
A girl gone too soon
Her time cut short
If you choose to die
A miracle won't happen
You can't be saved midway
Death you are trapped in
Think before you do it,
Think before you leap,
Before your body ends up,
Six feet deep.
