Horizon

Contributed by blue_angel on Thursday, 7th April 2005 @ 11:46:36 AM in AEST
Topic: EmotionalPoetry

Tears pour from these blood shot eyes
My heart aching from the piercing knife
My pain rising within myself
My soul heavy from this burdened life
Cold and dark is my grief never-ending
Concealed are my many sorrows
My intuition forever in exile
My screams weak and voice hollow
Looking into the mirror again
I shatter the reflection I see
Realizing through my disarray
I can’t even recognize me
Trying to escape my banishment so vile
My bruised knees I am weeping
Murderous is this curse so cruel
From my wrists I see the blood seeping
I look up into the starry night sky
Searching for some kind of revival
The moon disappearing, the sky awakens
Praying for my survival
Opening my eyes for what seems the first time
Crying away all that I’ve done
And now I’m finally feeling free
Running blindly into the horizon

I really like this poem, because it is quite easy to relate to it. Well done, and I truely hope things get better soon.
