RESURRECTION

Life creeps toward the outer edge
of the wooded Elysium …
arrayed in green and yellow hues
that reject the requiem.
Cold winter's death lies buried there
beneath the forest floor,
in leaves and foliage now laid bare …
preparing to rise once more.
Today … the edge of the forest green,
Tomorrow … the meadowland;
next week … a sea of flowers
as far as the eye can scan.
In rapid sequence will appear
the birds of song and mirth.
In record time God's barren land
will become God's wondrous birth.
Man, before birth, lost Eden …
his intended paradise.
Each Spring, God's resurrected Shangri-La …
reminds man of the price.

beautiful, well done... I enjoy your comparison of our Lord's resurrection to the revival of spring, and your mentioning of Eden (where man brought his accursed state) as reminder of where our sin began. These all point to the eternal hope we have in Jesus' resurrection. |

Exquisitively sensitive to the seasonal renewal of nature's bounty and beauty in Spring with a hint of a Resurrection that goes far behond the seasonal renewal and that promises a radical transformation, when rising to the Resurrected.
The exquisite delicacy and sensitivity to nature's beauty offered yearly by God in this delightful poem is a true joy.and great occasion for giving thanks to the Lord.
Praise HIM!
Thanks John for inviting us and letting us share in it.

Elizabeth .
