I wonder if your memory is more than truth,
if my vulnerability was my own fault,
if love and romance grow in the remembrance.
Your memory dies inside me slowly,
drawing deeper, drawing pieces of me along.
All I gave to you has dimmed,
love and hope have wept together in their grave.
Here I am. Left behind
by those who swore to never leave.
Times change and people change
and voices fade away.
My mind screams out,
inquiring how love can grow anew…
when all that was here, was given to you.

A intriguing intellectual poem.
Methinks there is the possibility to break out from that fixity.
Great write!

oh wow this is dark and ultra sad - a truely beautiful piece with lines of brillance such as 'Your memory dies inside me slowly,
drawing deeper, drawing pieces of me along.
All I gave to you has dimmed,
love and hope have wept together in their grave.' truely exceptional stuff

A beautiful poem Kara filled with longing and
ache. The emotions in this poem were well
expressed. I loved it, but I am at a loss as to
what to say beyond what I already have.
