Reflections of Intimacy

Contributed by zenmind on Wednesday, 6th April 2005 @ 07:34:04 PM in AEST
Topic: oops

It isn't as simple as it seems,
to write and fulfill that inner need which resembles
the pressure of 9th inning at bats,
the moment when everything means so much.

How is it that in one moment,
the sky could not be more blue,
and the next,
the blue fades into dust?

Of course nothing can ever stay the same,
like that first glance we shared in passing,
when we were not quite sure if it meant anything to each other,
but in the twilight, when the first star appeared, we both knew,
that we knew.

Why isn't it that easy all the time?

I've changed. Can you see?
Your hair still looks the same,
and the smell reminds me of my dreams,
when we were apart and the only place
we could make love was in each other's
memories.

I remember the time that I forgot to tell you to meet me,
and I was left standing alone, yet alert
with a hightened anticipation, a hightened awareness,
like the moment before death,
and you came anyway.

Were you there in my dreams?
Was that you, who spoke in such soft whispers,
that no words could be heard and all that was felt
was your breath on my neck?

I've been blessed enough to see through the ties that bind
one's mind to one's image, an illusory sense of completion.
I have the ability to sense that undeveloped pulse,
breathing, silently, yet steadily towards a boundless understanding
that underscores the very fabric of your touch.

Will this change?
Or will we run through rain showered streets,
glowing at midnight, singing wildy,
together into the first light of dawn?
Will I always see your eyes reflected in mine?

These questions are already understood, like everything else,
both of us know the future, that it doesn't matter
if we wake up beside each other every morning
because when I reach the moment of death,
and my life flashes before my eyes, you will be there,
and that will be enough.

this is amazing, brilliant, and all other things good (like chocolate)

always writing (or pouring to fill the bottomless cup

'How is it that in one moment,
the sky could not be more blue,
and the next,
the blue fades into dust?'

such extremes happen in an instance at times, while we want all things great to last, i dont think we can appreciate anything until we dont have it

'when we were apart and the only place
we could make love was in each other's
memories.'

this is such a universal concept here, i think everyone has that longing for the one they love, it is so strong

you then write such an understanding ending as you ask will it change? (probably) and does it matter? (not at all)
its life (beautiful)

... in words electrique

This is quite a good piece. I think it got better after the second stanza, as you began to write with more purpose. It feels like there that your inspiration came through.

I like the way this piece expresses itself. And the last three lines are an excellent finale. Well done!

Cheri Zenmind, weaver of surreal expressions, such a flawless tale you have whispered, quiet and sentimental, to a hopeless romantic's listening ear... Tears are flowing, fingers are tingling to write, I have been inspired by your poetry once more... My friend, if words could ever describe exactly how I feel about this poem, we'll be here forever, lol. SO, in short, flawless, infinite beauty, and a hint of melancholy. As always, I am completely captivated by your enchanting style, and divine flow. Merci beaucoup for sharing this exquisite piece. All my love. Forever,

Your dear friend/fervent fan,

Stephy!
