In Your Eyes

In your eyes,
There’s a world shadowed by the ignorance of people.
A gift being tossed around like a volley ball,
Smashed into the ground, players having no sympathy.
Your eyes are going blind,
A blind fold has been put on to shield those innocent eyes.
Your hands are tied behind your back, let them do everything for you.
As if a rose bush trying to grow in a dark gutter,
No deeper can you go.
You have sunken into the deepest depths of your soul.
Glide swiftly towards a new era on silent wings.
Caught between faith and truth,
You walk between myth and reality.
Trying to fight back tears that never existed,
A cunning mind job.
The earth is moving below your feet,
Yet you are hovering, frozen in time.
Pieces of your soul scattered like rocks on the road.
Choking,
Choking on your own self pity.
Not just a simple walk back,
Taking broken wings,
And mending them back together.
Well enough to fly once more.
