I want to scream and shout
say let me go
I am not as little
as I used to be
why do I feel as
if you treat me
like I'm three
but I'm really sixteen
and wishing I was more free
why is it that I'm so confused
why do I have to say it over and over again
let me be
let me be free
free is not a word that I know very well
because my parents love me to a point
that I'm very protected
so I will scream and shout
saying let me be
I just wanna be free

I can so much relate to ur situation for I was the same at ur age. I too thought that my parent's were over protective, but now as I am a parent I realised why my parent's did what they did. You too will realise this when u have children of ur own.
Otherwise a well written piece of poetry. Thanks for sharing it
hugs,
